Mayweather retires from boxing
Floyd Mayweather, Jr. has announced his retirement from boxing. Mayweather wrestled Big Show at WrestleMania XXIV. He was scheduled to have a big rematch with Oscar De La Hoya but that is now off. "I have decided to permanently retire from boxing. This decision was not an easy one for me to make, as boxing is all I have done since I was a child. However, these past few years have been extremely difficult for me to find the desire and joy to continue in the sport." ESPN has more on this at ESPN.com.

I am hoping this does not mean he will be coming back to the WWE, but I suppose it's possible if he is going to have a lot of free time on his
hands.

Re: Mayweather retires from boxing
I don't think he will come back to WWE because he would want the same payoff that he got for WrestleMania, and I don't think WWE is willing to dish out that kind of cash to him right now especially with the Million Dollar Mania thing and theem trying to do a lot of things to boost ratings. Mayweather certainly didn't do much for the ratings during the time he was appearing on Raw.

I was unaware of this rumor:
I wonder how Mayweather would do in MMA. He definitely has the capability for stand-up but I don't know enough about his training to know if he would do well on the ground.
Credit: pwinsider.comThere are a number of rumors circulating that Wrestlemania XXIV headliner Floyd Mayweather Jr. is going to announce signing with UFC
this week. UFC's Dana White is touting a major announcement on Thursday, so the puzzle pieces fit in theory, but we'll see if there is anything to it within a week.
